Saviour of our Streets

It's 11:30 p.m. and I'm listening to the storm outside threaten to tear the roof off of my house. My wife would say I am being melodramatic, but I pause with every creak and groan I hear from the attic.

But I made a list of things to do this weekend, and the last item on it is to share this blog entry.

An exciting start to 2024

My latest short film as director, and my first animated short, Saviour of our Streets, is officially finished. It makes the end of an incredible six-year journey that started with us crowdfunding on Kickstarter for one short film, only to end up making two, wildly different films.

Here is a sneak peek at the film...

And here is the poster:

So what now for the film?

I've spent the last week putting together a film festival submission package, which the trailer and the poster form part of. We'll now be submitting Saviour of our Streets to UK and international film festivals, particularly those with an emphasis on animation.

A final word

There have been a lot of emotions bubbling to the surface this week, but mostly pride in what we achieved, and gratitude for those who backed us, sent us words of encouragement and pushed us to keep going. I am so thankful to those people, friends and strangers alike. I love that crowdfunding enabled us to do this, and I hope to use Kickstarter for a new project soon.
